What a Lovely Sight!

On a recent morning walk with Rossi gal, we saw a beautiful rainbow.

The rainbow stretches from one end & gently arches down to the other end over the fluffy clouds. We stood, mesmerised by the lovely sight before us. Its captivating beauty simply took my breath away.

It feels so surreal, to witness the magnificent work of nature spread out in all its splendour before my very eyes. The pictures do not do the rainbow justice. Nothing compares to admiring it there & then.

I feel so touched. This is my first time seeing a complete rainbow. It is very rare that I get to see a rainbow, much less a complete one. On those few occasions whereby I'm lucky enough to see it, I only get to see a partial one, never a complete one, until now.

Seeing this beautiful rainbow lifted my spirits. It gives me hope. There had been some frustrating times, but they seemed to fade off somehow with the sighting of the rainbow. Perhaps Nature has its own unique way of soothing one's mood.

It also impresses upon me to be more open & see the bigger picture, instead of viewing things in a narrow or one-dimensional way.

A Morning at Mummy's Office

I suggested to daddy that Rossi gal, him & me spend our holiday morning today at my office.

I have been working here for about 10 years & daddy haven't visited my office once, much less Rossi gal. He does take darling over to fetch me after work & have breakfast with me near my workplace at times, but never have the chance to come up for a visit.

'Mummy, can I work here too?'

It is a rare opportunity that they could visit my office now. There is no one around. All have gone on a company trip, except me. I have chosen to stay behind. During usual times, our guys do work on weekends & even public holidays, so it is not convenient for daddy & darling to visit.

Dozzing off

It was quite an experience for darling. Soon, it was time to go. Daddy bagged her up, while I proceeded to close the office for the day...re-arranging the chairs, switching off the aircon & thermal water pot, etc.

'Mummy, when are you bringing me to work again?'

I'm happy that I can bring my family (darling & daddy) to my workplace and show them where I work. We spent a delightful morning here.

Nothing beats being with the ones you love & care for. Regardless of where we are & what we do there, even if it is just sitting quietly & spending every moment together, it is a heartwarming and beautiful time.

My First Morning Out with Darling @ Bishan Park

Last Saturday, it was my first morning out with Rossi gal, without Daddy. Daddy couldnt join us, as he needed to work for the day.

I thought of places I wanted to take Rossi gal to, but settled for Bishan Park, as this was also the first time I'm taking her out. Though Bishan Park was just right opposite our home, I still chose to drive over, as I wanted to get her used to me driving her out.

My intention is to drive her to nearby places for her walk, then eventually, driving her to further places, like Pasir Ris Park, Gardens by the Bay, etc. :P

We reached Bishan Park at around 8.15am. Initially, I could feel that Darling was not really used to not having Daddy around. She was wondering where her Daddy was & why wasn't he with us.

But eventually, she got used to just the both of us walking together, as we continued to walk around the area and as I talked to her along the way, explaining to her that Daddy was busy at work today, so he couldnt join us.

Within the park, resides a nice, cosy restuarant & bar by the name of "Canopy Garden Dining & Bar" (or "The Canopy"). It has a soothing ambience & is located at a secluded corner. There are both indoor & outdoor (Alfresco) dining. As the name goes, it has garden setting, where diners can have the feel of dining in a garden. 

What attracts me to check out this place is cos, it is pet-friendly. Pawrents can have their meals, in the company of their furkids at the Alfresco area. How nice. Honestly, though I live near Bishan Park, I rarely explore the place, until this day I'm out with Darling. I must say, I didnt expect to see such a nice dining place within a park.

I didnt dine at The Canopy, as I would prefer to have Daddy with us when dining there. Thus, I ordered a takeaway instead. The lady serving me was very courteous. She made the effort to introduce the restaurant's specialites to me and waited patiently, as I perused the menu to make my order. Their menu looks pretty good too. 

My Takeaway Order:
Top - Crabmeat aglio oilo
Bottom - Prawn & mango salad

Though its takeaway & me leaving it for a while before digging in, the food still tasted good. I like especially the prawn & mango salad. The pieces of prawns and chunks of mango are a good combination. As I love eating prawns, I enjoy this dish even more. ;p 

It was a nice morning out with Rossi gal. We spent more than an hour walking and exploring Bishan Park. Both of us really enjoyed our morning together.

Darling, let's do this again together! Mummy take u somewhere else to play. =) 

A Walk in the City: 1 Fullerton & Marina Bay

Daddy had been wanting to bring Rossi gal to the Merlion, but the snooze monster had been stopping us from doing so. Late nights combined with early mornings doesnt go too well together for us (especially me), I guess. I'm always the last one to sail to La La land.

Finally, Daddy decided to engage the help of the trusty alarm clock. It worked wonderfully. We woke up at 6am on a cool Sunday morning and were outta the house by 6.30am.

We had a long long walk here. It was pretty tiring, but we enjoyed our morning in the city.  

On Henderson Waves

We were at Mount Faber early this month. Over the weekend, we explored another area that is just a stone's throw away from Mount Faber. This time, we set foot on Henderson Waves.

Henderson Waves is the highest pedestrain bridge in Singapore. It is built to connect Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park.

Walking on Mount Faber

Daddy took us to Mount Faber yesterday. Rossi gal's first time there, though not Daddy & Mummy's. 

This was the place, where daddy & mummy went for a drink when they met each other for the first time. That was years back. For them, it was like a walk down the memory lane, while for Rossi gal, it was a new place to explore.

We stopped by to appreciate the view from the top. Cable cars were seen sliding to and fro over the sea & lush greenery. What a view.
